Profile Information

Where are you located?
Ballinlough, Cork City
What Transition Town do you belong to?
Cork
What are your main interests / skills / experience?
My Cork TT interests are currently with regards to the micro generation group that Keiran is in the process of setting up.

my Interests are in:
Environmentally conscious design of buildings and all things Environmental and Energy related.
Improving Cycling and public transport for peoples everyday needs.
The need for a stronger fuel security and climate change policy from government.
Permaculture / Consumption of local / Irish produced goods and services where possible. (However, we are heavily reliant on our neighboring countries and have traded with them long before oil dependency. We must have a broad base in export trade and engage in the globalized world as sustainably as is possible.)

Skills:
My background is in Architecture both in commercial Architects Offices and conservation Architects (ARCH DIP TECH) and in a construction management role for various projects (ACIOB). I’m currently undertaking a Masters of Science in Architecture: Advance Environmental and Energy Studies in Graduate School for the Environment (CAT), and East London University. My thesis relates to EROI, LCA and ecological materials of refurbished buildings.

I have spent many summers working in the horticultural and landscaping sector, and attempt in an urban situation to produce some of my own food. I also have some carpentry experience.
