Event Description

Many years ago Bob Dylan sang “The times they are a changing” but the phrase is even more relevant now.
The mission in providing this symposium is to have the natural building industry join together and change the times. We can provide a united combination of vision and technology to bring positive change and financial opportunity to the building industry and the world: Building green from start to finish in both the alternative and mainstream construction trades.
In September of 2009 join dozens of presenters and hundreds of participants in the beautiful West of Ireland for the first international Hemp Building Symposium.
To be hosted by Hempbuilding.com and Steve Allin, author of the pre-eminent book, “ Building with Hemp”.
with Hempcrete Natural Building from Canada and Jayeson
Hendyrson the leading Canadian Hemp building expert from Bowen Is.B.C.
Experience feature presentations on every aspect of natural building with industrial hemp, including presentations, panel discussions, breakout sessions, demonstrations and displays.
The industrial hemp building industry has been fragmented by geography and the forces of competition. However there is little to be gained by duplicating research and development, when networking and cooperation can pave the way to opportunity and growth in spite of mainstream recession. All sectors need to work together to make the promotion and research of industrial hemp more efficient capitalising on the pioneering work done so far.
The increased movement towards more sustainable methods of all human activities will give industrial hemp a chance to gain the reputation it deserves as a truly ecological construction material.
